DTN COMMENTS: The country is quiet at midday with just a few Southern
asking prices reported at $188 to $190, so far none have been reported in
the North. Bids remain very elusive. Significant trade volume will likely
be delayed until Wednesday or later.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (choice 313.87 +1.17, select 302.03
+2.68) with light to moderate box movement (35.26 lds of choice cuts,
8.79 lds of select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 11.70 lds of ground).
Cattle futures near the top of the noon hour are moderately to sharply
higher on live contracts, and sharply higher on feeder issues.
